Ian graduated as a Chartered Accountant in Glasgow, Scotland and was admitted as a member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland in 1976.
He left Scotland in 1977 and spent the next 10 years working initially for Ernst & Young in Iran and then as a Senior Manager in the Middle East for Deloittes. He specialised there in the audit of financial institutions and was a member of the team advising the Ruler of Abu Dhabi on his worldwide investments.
Ian accepted the position of Financial Controller of Walkers in the Cayman Islands in 1986 and remained there until 2003. In 2003 Ian accepted a similar position with Turners and he now acts as Financial Controller of the Circumference Group.
